Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use our solar calculator and optionally request a quote. By using the service you accept these terms.
1. What the service is
We offer a free tool that estimates what solar could mean for your home, based on satellite data about your roof and the information you enter. If you ask for it, we connect you with one licensed installer in your area.
We do not sell solar ourselves and we do not perform installations. We provide an estimate and an introduction to an installer.
2. The estimate is informational
The calculation is an informational estimate. It is based on satellite data, your own inputs, current U.S. electricity rates, and state net-metering/export rules at the time of calculation. The figures are an approximation and are not a binding quote.
A final, binding quote can only be given by an installer after an on-site visit. Actual figures may differ, depending on roof condition, your utility, your electricity rate, your actual usage, your state's export rules, and the equipment chosen.
3. Export rates and net metering
Export (sell-back) value varies significantly by state and utility, and these rules change. The export rate shown is a modeling figure; the editable field on the result page lets you enter your utility's actual rate. Always confirm your current rate with your utility.
4. Your information must be accurate
For the estimate to be meaningful, the information you enter must be accurate. If you enter incorrect information, for example about your usage, the estimate will be correspondingly inaccurate.
5. Quotes and contact
If you request a quote, you consent to us sharing your contact information with one licensed installer, who may then contact you. Receiving the quote is free and carries no obligation. Any agreement to buy and install solar is made directly between you and the installer. We are not a party to that agreement and have no responsibility for the installer's work, quote, pricing, or deliverables.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the calculator to get an estimate for your own home or a home you have a legitimate interest in. You may not misuse the service, attempt to overload it, or use it for automated data collection. We may limit the number of calculations per user per day.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the estimate is complete or accurate, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on the estimate. Always obtain a final quote from an installer before deciding.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost savings. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is posted on the website with its update date.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Wyoming for any dispute, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
