2. Information we collect
When you use the calculator and request a quote, we collect:
Information about your home. Your address, plus what you enter about your electricity usage, whether you have an EV or heat pump, and your roof-face selections.
Roof data. We obtain your roof's area, tilt, and orientation from satellite data based on your address.
Contact information. If you request a quote, we collect your name, email address, and phone number.
Technical information. To a limited extent we collect technical data such as IP address and device type to operate and secure the service.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to calculate a solar savings estimate for your home, to show you the result, and - if you ask - to connect you with one licensed installer in your area so you can receive a free, no-obligation quote.
We do not use your information for third-party marketing beyond the single installer match, and we do not sell your information for money.
4. How we share information
One licensed installer. If you request a quote, we share your information with one local, licensed installer so they can contact you. We do not share your information broadly with multiple companies.
We also use the following service providers to run the service:
Google (Solar API) - to obtain roof data from your address.
Geoapify - for address autocomplete.
Map provider - to show the satellite image of your roof.
Hosting and database providers - to run the website and store information securely.
These providers process information only on our instructions.
5. "Do Not Sell or Share" / your choices
Sharing your contact details with an installer at your request is a core part of the service. Depending on your state, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered a "sale" or "share." You can opt out of advertising cookies using the cookie banner, and you may email contact@solarpanelquote.io with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share."
6. Retention
We keep your information as long as necessary to provide the service and the quote you requested, and afterward as required by law. Home-related calculation data is kept for up to three years. If you request deletion, we delete your information unless we are legally required to keep it.
7. Your rights
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access it, to request deletion, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of sale/share for targeted advertising. You can exercise these rights by emailing contact@solarpanelquote.io. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. Security
We protect your information with appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted storage and access controls. No solution is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
9. Cookies
We use necessary cookies to make the website work. For analytics and advertising cookies we ask for your consent first via the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
10. Children
The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is posted on the website with its update date.
